About Me
I have loved to draw since I was a little girl. I could draw the little turtle on the matchbook cover (now I'm dating myself.) Drawing was always a hobby of mine, but one that I put on the back burner of my life as I raised my family.
Several years ago some friends and I had gone to a wine tasting. I purchase a pretty wine glass painted with little cherry blossoms on it. When I got home and went to put it away, I noticed I had the same plain wine glasses in my china cabinet. I turned to my husband and said, "I can paint, I can do this!" So out came the paint & my old paint brushes and I started painting everything! No glassware was safe. Wine glasses, bottles, dishes etc. It became my quiet little Zen moment...A year later (2016), my twin nieces were celebrating their Sweet 16. Having always loved unique personalize gifts, I made them each a champagne glass that resembled their dresses (the tulle skirt and pearl beading, etc.) and Sipping Pretty Designs by Helen was born!! I opened an Etsy account and started customizing Wedding Toasting Glasses, recreating each couples personal unique wedding style!
In the summer of 2017, the owner of the Junction Boutique of Belford, NJ called and asked me if I would like to join the Junction Boutique family. This brought about a new level of creativity that I never knew I had!! Once again the wine glasses came out and so did the idea of painted mermaids, beach scenes and more. From glasses to shop windows, wall murals, my love of painting has endless possibilities! And amazingly, it all started with a cherry blossom wine glass.

My Inspiration (Wedding toasting glasses)
